EagleTrader trader: The change in trading logic is the core of the capital curve reversal

Why does the account curve suddenly show a sustained upward trend after a long-term oscillation using the same trading strategy? Many traders instinctively believe that either the market has come or a new approach has been adopted.

Liang Jiawei's answer overturned this habitual cognition: "There was no adjustment strategy, it was based on the profit and loss ratio at that time

Looking at his net asset value curve, the red box indicates a long-term repeated tug of war phase, and only after breaking through did he start a smooth upward trend.

The driving force behind the curve change is not the trading tool itself, but rather a change in its understanding of the underlying logic of trading.

Previously, we had a questionnaire exchange with Liang Jiawei. This time, we will continue to explore his trading mentality behind the scenes through in-depth online conversations.

Accepting mistakes is part of the transaction

You can't be right about every transaction. "This is an important premise for Liang Jiawei to view transactions now.

Therefore, instead of pursuing every correct judgment, he is more concerned about whether the loss is still within his plan after making a wrong transaction; When a truly eligible opportunity arises, is the potential profit margin worth taking on this risk.

The fluctuation of the early curve, in his opinion, is also a natural result of this process.

There will be stop loss and drawdown, but as long as the individual risk is controlled, there is still a possibility for the overall rhythm to rebound when encountering opportunities with more suitable profit and loss ratios in the future.

This may seem like a simple logic, but Liang Jiawei couldn't do it from the beginning.

One explosion, forcing cognitive restructuring

When Liang Jiawei first started trading, he was also deeply trapped in common misconceptions among beginners: he had a shallow understanding of position management, was prone to emotional impulsiveness in the face of intense market conditions, had a sense of luck, and often deviated from established trading plans.

During a rapid market fluctuation, his pending order was unexpectedly triggered, resulting in a liquidation of his account.

Looking back at the past, he attributed the core reason for this heavy blow to four words: lack of reverence.

This defeat completely reversed his trading mindset.

Previously, his attention was only focused on "how much profit can be made from a single transaction", but after experiencing a liquidation, his first thought became: how to stay in the market for a long time.

The principle that Liang Jiawei has always adhered to in trading is that only when the principal is still there can there be a chance.

Single profit can never define trading ability. Without a risk control system, the accumulated profits over the long term may be lost in a single out of control transaction.

From then on, he truly accepted that "losses are the norm of trading" and placed stop loss, position control, and trading plan execution at the core of trading.

Slow down is the faster way to grow

The biggest change for Liang Jiawei after joining EagleTrader is that the trading pace has completely slowed down.

In his early years, he had a strong trading anxiety, always feeling that 'not doing orders for a day is missing out on profits'.

This mentality has led him to reverse priorities, no longer waiting for the market to adapt to his own system, but instead trading for the sake of trading, forcibly seeking entry opportunities, greatly increasing the probability of trading errors.

Nowadays, he has long abandoned the obsession with high-frequency trading. If there is no market position that meets the standards, patiently observe and wait; The opportunity to accurately match the system arises, and then strictly follow the plan.

In Liang Jiawei's opinion, slow is also a kind of fast. The 'slow' here does not mean deliberately lying flat or missing opportunities, but rather rejecting ineffective trades and abandoning emotional manipulation.

When he no longer focuses on trading frequency, his attention can return to the essence of trading: whether the position is of high quality, how to set stop loss, and whether he can accept controllable losses calmly after misjudgment.

By clarifying these core issues, trading becomes simple, clear, and balanced.

High quality location is only suitable for moderate trial and error storage

After being polished by the market, Liang Jiawei has developed a mature position management logic, completely breaking free from the influence of adding or reducing positions based on emotions.

He will not blindly increase his position just because he subjectively believes in a certain market trend. All position adjustments are based on the risk boundary as the core basis.

In daily trading, he will strictly control the preset stop loss of a single transaction within $25; Only when encountering market positions with high cost-effectiveness and stronger certainty, and the stop loss can be reduced to $10 or even lower, will he moderately relax his position and increase his participation.

In short, what determines the size of a position is not trading obsession, but a clear and controllable risk boundary.

At the same time, he also has a clear understanding that smaller stop losses do not necessarily mean a winning trade, and adding positions will also amplify losses.

Therefore, his logic of adding positions is never based on "predicting profits", but relies on his own trading system to make rational decisions after weighing risks and returns. This is also the core trading literacy that he has accumulated after the liquidation.

From emotional impulse trading and fear of short positions, to accepting losses calmly and patiently waiting for opportunities, Liang Jiawei's transformation has never relied on a completely new trading strategy.

His path to advancement is simple: strictly controlling individual risks, adhering to the principle of profit and loss ratio, strictly executing trading plans, and only investing in high-quality opportunities.

There is never an absolute perfect answer to trading, it will not be completely fixed just because of a single liquidation, nor will it be permanently smooth just because of a period of favorable market conditions.

Nowadays, Liang Jiawei always adheres to a core principle: first hold onto the principal, stay in the market, and then wait for exclusive opportunities within the system.

As he repeatedly emphasized, "Only when the principal is still there can there be a chance
